Thanks so much for leaving a comment Henry. I'm glad you found the information useful. Currently I've been seeing a Maximized Living chiropractor for a year and the difference in quality of life is amazing. I usually get bronchitis and laryngitis twice a year, in Nov. and Jan/Feb. I have not been ill yet since last Nov. My child is 3 now and his first 2 years of life, he needed a nebulizer several times a year for bronchiolitis and wheezing symptoms. Since being under care at this Chiropractor, he has never gotten a serious cough or wheeze and he hasn't needed the nebulizer.

McKaye: You are absolutely right. Alternative procedures are not covered even by most HMOs or Medicaid. That includes chiropractic therapy visits if they number more than (I don't know, 3 a month?). So most chiropractors have pay plans to accommodate those who are uninsured or whose insurance won't cover their services.

Have you seen SiCKO? This is a documentary on the American health care system by Michael Moore. The content of the movie is spot on target with your comment. And on the Patch Adams site, you can find a link in the navigation where Dr. Adams reviews SiCKO favorably.

The western world is so caught up on how much money it can make that it does not mind killing a few of its less fortunate citizens.
I recently called Medicare in an attempt to receive acupuncture.
After waiting on hold for a few minutes, the woman politely notified me (and I quote), “Medicare does not cover any alternative procedures.”
However, it will partially cover the shameful amount of pain medication that I swallow and patch on my body each day. It will partially cover whatever damage this medication is doing to my liver. In addition, it will partially cover any hospitalization I may have.
Oh, it will NOT cover my funeral.
