Life favors the optimist

I am finishing up my work on an ebook all about hidden nutritional causes/contributors to depression. I have been searching for the answer to a particular technical problem I’m having with the layout of the book, and remembered that in September I bought a book that would help me, “Adobe Creative Suite 3 Bible.” The first page of this book has a quote so inspiring I want to share it here. It came to me at the time I needed it, perhaps you could use it as well!

It’s hard to smile when trials abound,

It’s tough to be happy when there’s danger around,

It’s difficult to laugh when fear gets you down,

It’s rough to be positive when your friends wear a frown.

But if you can smile, then trials melt away,

And if you can be happy, then dangers become clay,

If you can laugh, your fears will disperse.

And if you can be positive, then you don’t need this verse.

In our crazy, hustle-bustle world, life favors the optimist.

Thanks Jeanne! A great quote found in an unlikely place — it was like finding a gemstone.

Great post. Positive thoughts have energy that transmute into our physical reality. Many people have a hard time understanding this, thank you for being bold enough to speak the truth.

Thanks Baker! I found you on Twitter from your beautiful blog.

Some people do have trouble smiling when trials abound. It has to be a conscious choice!

It helps to develop the watcher, so that you can see yourself being upset and then remark to yourself, Oh, that’s me being upset. Can I change that? Yes.

I, of course, was having trouble being optimistic when this poem appeared to me. Then I took a deep breath and posted it right away because it helped me out when I was having a trying time.
