I liked your post and your attitude! I totally agree, joy refills us with energy, which is so necessary for self-realization and happy life. Unfortunately, many people would read this and say "yeah, you're right, but there are just too many troubles in this world, never enough money, etc, etc".
Have you watched American Beauty, there was a phrase which Lester Burnham says about his wife, Caroline: "She didn't use to be like that. She used to be happy. WE used to be happy" (this is how I remember it).

It gives me strength to know that there are people who think in the same direction as myself. Thanks for the post and have the greatest day!

Carol: You always give great advice: <em>"be the change you want to see in the world. People tend to be highly motivated when they see someone producing the results they want in their own lives."</em> I'm not blogging recently because I'm busy figuring out how to be that change.

Hi Jessica, I could'nt agree with you more. It is sad that so many people spend 40 or more hours per week doing something they do not enjoy, and yet do not consider making an effort to find the time to take part in an activity they do enjoy.

I thought your question "how do I integrate doing the things that bring ME joy with wanting to further the planet on its spiritual evolution?" was a thought provoking one, I would say one of the easiest ways of helping others to develop and grow is to be an example to them. In other words be the change you want to see in the world. People tend to be highly motivated when they see someone producing the results they want in their own lives.

Great post.

I too think that the world would be a much better place if we all found the thing(s) that lit the fire deep in us and did them more often.
